D.J. O.G. Style is best known for being part of the pioneering L.A. Hip
Hop group Delinquent Habits. Forming the group in the 90's, he produced
a demo that caught the attention of Sen-Dog from the legendary Hip Hop
group Cypress Hill. Seeing the potential Sen-Dog would open the door to
them, sign them to his production company and eventually get them a
record deal with Loud Records (distributed by RCA / BMG). This led to
Delinquent Habits in 1996 releasing its debut album Delinquent Habits
which spawned the power singles Lower East Side and Tres Delinquentes.
With massive MTV and radio play Tres Delinquentes would easily go gold
(eventually selling millions world-wide) and launch Delinquent Habits
into the mainstream.
O.G. would go on to produce the highly rated follow-up Here Come The
Horns in 1998 on Loud Records. This album would allow O.G. to work with
the legendary Big Pun (R.I.P) and The Beatnuts. Delinquent Habits would
release on it's own independent label Station 13 Records (distributed by
Ark21 / Universal): Merry Go Round in 2000, Freedom Band in 2003 and New
& Improved in 2006. Being a partner and in-house producer for
Station 13 Records O.G. would oversee all of the musical aspects of the
label. His production on the hit song Return of the Tres would propel
Station 13 Records to the top with the song being used in numerous
movies and commercials with companies such as Chevrolet and Nike. His
signature sound of Mariachi horns and traditional Mexican music mixed
with hard-hitting Hip Hop beats proved infectious to the people who seem
to want more and more of this particular sound.
O.G. also served as the Delinquent Habits tour DJ which allowed him to
travel around the world for 12 years non-stop since the release of the
hit single Tres Delinquentes. Tours would include perfroming with such
greats as Cypress Hill, Ice-T, Funkdoobiest, Control Machete, Sergent
Garcia, Rahzel, Big Pun (R.I.P.) and Tony Touch. O.G. is just as
skillfull behind the turntables as he is on the mixing boards. He
started as a back yard party D.J mixing, scratching and battling as well
as distributing his own mixed tapes to the streets and mom & pop
record stores.
Currently, you can catch O.G. in the studio focusing on his true
passion: producing. He's working on two projects: Hip-Hop power-duo
1Fifty1's (Chicago) new album and soulful female singer Michelle's (Los
Angeles) debut album.
